Wow that’s a mouthful! And who wants to write anything any way!? Well to be honest, hand in hand with journalling and calligraphy, hand written letters are coming back into style in a big way.
I can sort of understand it too. It is lovely to give and receive handwritten letters. I even have some sealing wax and a special seal with my initial on it. And a fabulous quality Mont Blanc Meisterstück fountain pen (one of the prides of my life). Sigh.
So I had to design something especially for writing letters. Um…but what about people who would rather eat their own liver than put pen to paper? This little guy is great for other things too! I have one which I use for my on-the-go sewing kit. It has some basics and there is room for my crochet hooks and a couple of knitting needs too.
And makeup, it is great if you want something just that little bit nicer for your makeup. I love the fact that it opens out like a book and you can see everything- much more elegant (not to mention easier) than rummaging around in a pouch.
As you can see from the pockets, it would be easy to adapt them for makeup brushes or journalling pens by dividing the pocket up differently and I would add a small rectangle of wool felt somewhere for sewists to store pins and needles.
Here is my adaptation for sewing things – my stoke of genius with this one was the elastic in the spine with a button at the end – perfect for storing spools of thread! I made this one a while ago so it is looking a bit battered and worn but I still love to use it.
So yes, I can categorically say that it is not just for writers.
And it is in my shop just in time for my Big November Event which, believe me is a competition that you want to be in on! Do check it out especially if you are a bag maker or bag maker curious.
Talk soon and stay safe. Germany is heading into a ‘light lockdown’ as of Monday so that means even more lovely writing time!
