I have something a little bit different for you today. My publishers at Search Press have asked if I would like to take part in a special Christmas promotion that they are doing for Bookmarked (a whole, glorious crafty community and you can see more about it here) and of course I said YES!
My part in the game was to make a project from one of my books with a festive makeover. I could not possibly pass that up! But of course, me being me, I could not choose just one so I have made two things and turned the make into a little Christmas set.
I chose a cooking theme because I love to cook for Christmas and I know that a lot of you do too and this led me to cooking related makes in my book. Preparing and serving food is a big part of a traditional festive experience and a couple of handy kitchen additions with yuletide flair are always welcome.
These pieces make quick gifts too. I have written a few books for Search press but I chose my Sewing with Scraps book because I love to use every last bit of a beautiful fabric (and save some money) and my blog features scrappy sewing projects quite often so it all sort of goes together nicely.
Another thing that I love about these two projects is that they are both totally reversible. This means that you have more versatility, more options.
I do hope that you like my choices. I cannot give the full patterns here but the makes are one of my Bowl Covers from page 29 and the Pot Holder from page 55. The book is called Sewing with Scraps from the All New 20 to Make Series by Debbie von Grabler- Crozier from Search Press.
If you are in Britain and Europe, you can buy the book here. If you are in The United States you can buy it here and if you are in Australia, you can buy it here. As the name suggests, it has 20 patterns inside, all sewn using scraps and for around $10.00 (much less in the United Kingdom), it is great value.
I do hope that you have enjoyed the Christmas makeover of two everyday favourite projects. Do check out the book for even more and keep it in mind for your Christmas wish list. Santa is listening and he is always grateful for ideas!
See you next time!
Hugs, Debbie xx
