I am constantly struggling under a huge mountain of scraps and it is my guess that you have a few around too. My other struggle is not enough storage. Again, I bet that we have that in common as well!
I set myself a quest to change both of these conditions with one pattern! Enter the Sacramento Storage Cube in Three Sizes.
This is a beginner friendly pattern and it has been designed to use scraps to ‘make’ the fabric for the tops. If you have never tried QAYG before, here is a handy link to check the technique out for yourself. Each cube uses very little fabric actually and they even nest so when they are not in use, they save space.
The pattern is available in my Etsy shop at and it is at an introductory discounted price until midnight 31.10.2020.
One of my favourite things about this pattern is its versatility. It is great for sewing room storage. When I start a new knitting pattern, I gather everything that I need and choose a cube to put the things in. New mothers love them for little things which need to be kept handy and they make great gifts for pet parents too.
It comes in three really handy sizes so there is an option for any application. The sizes are
- Large- 7 ½” high x 8 ½” wide x 7 ½” deep
- Medium- 6 ½” high x 7” wide x 6” deep
- Small- 5 ¼” high x 6” wide x 4” deep
One more thing before I let you go- I do not mind at all if you make these to sell in small quantities. All I ask is that you acknowledge me as the designer. Fair? They make great craft stall sellers and in the lead up to Christmas, they would make a fabulous gift baskets filled with goodies.
I hope that you love this pattern and enjoy sewing it as much as I have enjoyed writing it. You can find the Sacramento Storage Cubes pattern here in my Etsy shop. Don’t forget that if you buy before the end of October, you save 15%.
Happy sewing and see you next time!
