Family Walk on the Heath

Pretty typical of me, I have had my postcard menu category for absolutely ages and now, on the very last day of 2020, I have managed to steal a few moments to add a small post.

The idea of this section is to show you small snippets of life in my part of Germany. It is a beautiful country as many will know but it is not all mountain ranges and the sort of thing that you see on the walls of a German restaurant.

I live in the beautiful (but flattish) north and we have lovely heathland. Rob and I took a protesting Daisy for a walk in November. Daisy really isn’t an outdoorsy dog I am afraid. Her dream day is sitting in front of Netflix with both parents on the sofa.

But on this day, the light was so very beautiful and Germany was enjoying an awesome autumn with liquid gold through the trees. We just had to go and do something.

Germany is full of beautifully organised but natural looking trails and walking areas with seats along the way.

We were actually looking for a completely different area, didn’t actually find it but discovered this special little pocket of loveliness instead.

I am not at all sorry either. Around every bend was something else to look at and I could feel the work stress draining away.

Well I will leave it there (since this is supposed to be a postcard!) and take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year and let’s hope that 2021 is a bit of an improvement on 2020!

Hugs, Debbie xx
